Isn’t it great: we could supply people worldwide with very healthy #essential amino acids just by growing them at our windows at the facade of our houses. I talk about algae, which only need sun and good water. This good be a great solution to supply people in deserts with food. This project is supported by EDEKA, a chain of supermarkets in Germany. They opened a “Food Tech Campus” in Berlin. The retail group offers a networking platform for start-ups to promote the development of innovative products. This also includes the Berlin Mint Engineering GmbH. They developed an urban algae cultivation which was presented at the EUREF -Campus in Berlin and supplies the campus canteen with algae.
We think that is a really great idea.
Es gibt eine großartige Innovation in Bezug auf Versorgung der Weltbevölkerung mit Nahrung. Und die Lösung sind Algen, die an Hausfassaden von Fenstern in großen Glasampullen wachsen. Dieses Projekt wird von Edeka unterstützt. Die Einzelhandelsgruppe hat in Berlin einen „Food Tech Campus” eröffnet. Sie bietet finanzielle Unterstützung, Raum und eine Vernetzungsplattform für Start-ups, um die Entwicklung innovativer Produkte voranzutreiben. Zu den Betreibern gehört auch die Berliner Mint Engineering GmbH. Die von ihr entwickelte Anlage zur urbanen Algenkultivierung wurde am EUREF-Campus in Berlin installiert und versorgt die dortige Campuskantine mit Algen.
Das wäre ein großartiger Schritt, die Ernährung weltweit mit sehr gesunden Algen zu bereichern. Sie enthalten lebenswichtige essentielle Aminosäuren. Sonnenschein ist eine wesentliche Voraussetzung, die die Algen für ihr natürliches Wachstum brauchen. Daher wäre die Versorgung der Bevölkerung in Wüsten mit Algen mehr als ideal.
